In La Jolla, Calif., a beachfront home asking $26.588 million has circles throughout, from a blue dome to a rounded kitchen.
The property is the highest priced home currently on the market in La Jolla, according to Brenda Wyatt of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, who is listing the property with Amber Anderson of Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty. With about 100 feet on Marine Street Beach, the roughly 8,300-square-foot, three-level house has seven bedrooms and ocean views from nearly every room, Ms. Wyatt said.
The seller is the family of the late Jack Londen, a Phoenix businessman who paid $12.125 million for the newly built house in 2004, according to his widow, Lynn Londen.
The home is topped with a blue dome reminiscent of the Greek Islands, Ms. London said. Inside, the home has spiral staircases, and the rounded kitchen has an oval island to match. The house also has about 2,000 square feet of patios, decks, balconies and terraces. The third-floor master suite has its own washer and dryer—concealed in a cabinet—so the owners don’t have to go downstairs to do laundry, Ms. Wyatt said. There’s also a media room with a projector and a stage.
Ms. Londen, who lives primarily in Phoenix, said she and her husband used the La Jolla property as a “beach getaway.” Mr. Londen died last year at age 85, and Ms. Londen said she is selling because she wants to preserve the memories she has of her husband in the home.
Mr. Londen headed Phoenix-based Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company as well as the Phoenix television station AZTV 7, which Ms. Londen now leads. Mr. Londen is also known for running against Evan Mecham in the 1978 Republican Arizona gubernatorial primary.
